Days Eight, Nine and Ten

Sorry I have not posted for awhile...there really is not much new news to report. I have included a few extra pictures in lieu of any good text!

This is the cat that lives in the baby house -- I think her name is Sonya. Katie better get used to the kitties now since she will have two of them when we get her home.

This photo is from one of the stairwells in the baby house. They all are painted with these great murals.

Our visits with Katie get better each time. It seems like she is waiting and looking for us when we arrive, which makes us feel GREAT! It also seems like she is bigger, stronger and has more hair each day! We have been practicing trying to sit up (on her own, without teetering over) and standing up (she does a dance-bounce kind of move when you put her on her feet).

On Friday, a photographer came and took photos of Katie for her passport -- so that was exciting and felt like a milestone. We do, however, still have about three more weeks to be here in Kazakhstan. It is beautiful, the staff takes fantastic care of us, and we LOVE seeing Katie twice a day...but we are starting to get just a little home sick.

Yesterday was New Year's Eve day, so we only had a visit in the morning. Today, on New Year's Day, we go for just one visit in the afternoon. So...until then, we must occupy ourselves. We have watched almost all of the DVDs we brought, and have read a few books each. We also have played many rounds of Uno and have started a Rummy tournament.
